Below are listings of the different trails along the Timucuan Trail Waterway. Each trail has a description and an average time to paddle the route. Click on the links for each trail to see more detailed information about that trail.
Northern Half Simpson Creek Trail
(intersects with Little Talbot Island Circumnavigational Trail and Big Talbot Island Ocean Route Trails)
Launch at Kayak Amelia and head North, then row South back to Kayak Amelia.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 3 hours round-trip
Southern Half Simpson Creek Trail
(intersects with Little Talbot Island Circumnavigational Trail)
Launch at Kayak Amelia and head South, then row back to Kayak Amelia.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 1.5 hours round-trip
Little Talbot Island Circumnavigational Trail
(intersects with Northern half Simpson Creek Trail, Southern half Simpson Creek Trail and Big Talbot Ocean Route Trails)
Launch at Alimacani & head North up Simpson’s Creek to Ocean. Then head South along the shore of the Ocean back to Alimacani. ** Advanced paddlers only.**
Average Time To Paddle Route: 6 hours round-trip
Intracoastal/Fort George River Trail
Launch at Big Talbot Island Launch Point and row to Alimacani Boat Ramp.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 5 hours one way
Big Talbot Island Ocean Route Trail
(intersects with Northern half Simpson Creek and Little Talbot Island Circumnavigational Trails)
Launch at Big Talbot Island and row South to Kayak Amelia.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 3-4 hours one way
Betz-Tiger Trail
Launch at Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park Launch Point and paddle North to the North end of Betz Tiger Point.
Then row South back to Pumpkin Hill Launch Point.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 3 hours round trip
Pumpkin Hill Trail
Launch at Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park Launch Point and head South to Cedar Point Road.
Then row North back to Pumpkin Hill Launch Point.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 3 hours round trip
Palms Fish Camp Trail
Launch at Palms Fish Camp and row North to the bend in the river.
Then row South back to Palms Fish Camp.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 3 hours round trip
Alimacani to Huguenot Trail
Launch at Alimacani and head South and out to mouth of Fort George Inlet, then paddle North back to Alimacani.
Alternatively, launch at Huguenot and head North, then row South back to Huguenot.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 2 hours round trip
Jim King Park Trail
Launch at Jim King Park and Boat Ramp on Sister’s Creek. Head Northwest through the inlets towards Hannah Mills Creek. Then return Southwest towards Jim King Park and Boat Ramp. Take a GPS unit to keep you oriented.
Average Time To Paddle Route: 2.5 to 3 hours round trip
